jdc Fine Art: Contemporary Art Dealer
jdc Fine Art (est. 2011) is dedicated to content-driven art by established and emerging contemporary artists specializing in photography. We work with national and international artists, and champion those making art to serve a higher purpose. Gallery exhibitions and interests speak to art historical themes, but mark our epoch, reposition us so as to see from another vantage, call for re-evaluation of accepted norms, and inspire reflection and dialog. Aesthetically, we gravitate towards narrative, figurative work. Overarching themes at jdc Fine Art gallery include: beauty and the poetics of the world; the every day; the image as document, memorial, snapshot, even lie; alternative or plural realities; and socio-political issues.
Art serves a higher purpose.

About jdc Fine Art Director Jennifer DeCarlo
Gallery director and art dealer Jennifer DeCarlo has a strong connection to the photographic field through her work in contemporary art galleries, as a writer, and patron of the arts. DeCarlo earned her MFA from UW-Madison and BFA from Knox College. After completing her studies, DeCarlo worked as Assistant Director at the Schneider Gallery, Chicago for three years, then writer and editor for AIPAD (Association of International Photography Art Dealers) for nearly five years.
DeCarlo launched jdc Fine Art from San Diego in 2011 and has also operated in Chicago and the Oregon Coast. Recently returned to California, she has celebrated 10+ years as an art dealer has joined AIPAD as a member.
DeCarlo presently operates jdc Fine Art as a private dealer. She operates an online platform and participates in art fairs. A sophisticated yet approachable contemporary fine art dealer, DeCarlo champions the work of our contemporary photography artists in gallery exhibitions and art fairs. She also attends portfolio reviews and works to support the cultural institutions in places she has lived.
“Omnipresence need not be anchored to a singular space; connectivity can occur outside more than inside the box; collectors tend to explore virtually before physically; and all patrons enjoy special invitations to unique art-events.”
DeCarlo & jdc Fine Art artists have contributed to the following museum benefit auctions: Museum of Photographic Arts (San Diego), Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego, Museum of Contemporary Art Tucson, and Museum of Contemporary Photography (Chicago). DeCarlo has garnered various press and been Reviewer at various portfolio reviews: PhotoLucida, Photo NOLA, Filter Photo Festival, Medium Festival of Photography, Colorado Photographic Art Center. She served on the board of the San Diego Museum of Art Latin American Arts Council and is presently serving on the board of the Sitka Center for Art and Ecology.
