This black and white panoramic photograph of an abandoned estate by Guillermo Srodek-Hart belongs to the artist’s series, Rural Installations. The building emerges from barren but well-kept fields. The only structure on the horizon, it feels dominant and exposed. This photographic artwork is fitting compliment to earlier series, Stories. The artist continues to document the countryside of Argentina. He uses traditional and new methods to make landscapes that nod to photographic traditions while anchoring to the disappearing present. Srodek-Hart uses both a 4x5 camera and drone cameras to create Rural Installations- the name itself underscores the impermanence of man in the landscape. The subjects of the project focus on three subject-types: estates (as above), grain elevators, and gas stations. These works were included in a 2-man exhibition, Something in the Earth Here.**
