From the Argentinian-born Paris-based contemporary artist Constanza Piaggio’s series Mental Meteorites. Artworks in the project are a plastic and formal visual study that combines photographs from personal image-archive with dry pigments, and in some works colored ground. These photographs are documents of ephemeral works, made in a moment of experimentation. They compress and expand art history- borrowing from traditions of collage, color theory, and the snapshot. Integrations of material layers prove that the desire to preserve a moment for future enjoyment is primal, never all-inclusive, and always open to interpretation.
