We are proud to announce that the Museum of Fine Arts Houston has acquired photography by Jennifer Greenburg. Two acquisitions by the museum were matched by one gift from a private collection to make three works by the Artist now in the permanent collection. This selection represents a smartly chosen set of work from the Revising History series with one early work, one later work, and one work that speaks to a repeating theme.

Something funny happened in the kitchen, 2010, also in the collection of MoCP, Chicago, was the Artist’s first successful work executed in the Revising History series. I was a vendor of drink, not love 2018 is exemplary of latter works; it is strong, dark, and directly references art historical work and deeper layers of context. It was finally my day! 2015, donated by private collector, draws on a specific theme the artist revisits, the beauty pageant.

We thank the Museum for their patronage and look forward to viewing these works in context with the collection.
