Congratulations to Rashod Taylor whose work continues to earn support of a growing list of public collections. The gallery recently placed three new works with the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. They have added Between two worlds, LJ in Trouble, and Gamer. This latest acquisition brings the total number of works in the collection to twelve.
Rashod Taylor’s work is also now part of the permanent collections of the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History & Culture, The Library of Congress, Prints and Photographs Division, and The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art. Some of the aforementioned public collections follow the work of Little Black Boy, others My America series, or both.
Rashod Taylor’s My America is a series of wet plate collodion prints that explore what it is like to live in America as a Black man. Landscapes and portraits predominate the series, but some still life works are among the ongoing body. We invite you to visit his artist’s page and follow his evolving practice.
